Molded foam's excellent cushioning capabilities and its ability to protect complex shapes make it one of the most economical ways to protect medium to high volume products. We currently have a wide variety of foams, including the new EcoSix recycled EPS foam from Rapac, available to meet the specific requirements of your application. In addition, our R&D team is continually developing and evaluating new foam materials to add to our portfolio.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
EPS properties include reliable strength, good first-drop cushioning performance and excellent insulation value. Typical applications include consumer product packaging, insulated shippers and automotive components. EPS is fully recyclable at over 200 drop off locations in the US.
EcoSix Recycled EPS from Rapac
EcoSix EPS is the only moldable EPS product on the market that is certified as containing over 60% pre-consumer material. EcoSix provides the same level of packaging protection and has the same look and feel as standard EPS. In addition, EcoSix material is a direct replacement for standard EPS which means that the same tooling can be used.
Expanded Polyethylene (EPE)
EPE material characteristics include exceptional elasticity, impact strength and excellent chemical resistance. EPE is often used in protective packaging applications, especially when transporting high-value, fragile products such as electronics. Other applications include solvent-resistant packaging.
Expanded Polypropylene (EPP)
EPP demonstrates high-energy absorption and excellent cushioning over a broad loading range. Due to its high service temperature properties, we often use it to develop heat-resistant packaging for electronics, and energy-absorbing automotive components, as well as in our TransGuard™ returnable and reusable totes and automotive dunnage applications.
Polystyrene/Polyethylene Blends
A variety of Polystyrene/Polyethylene blends are available that provide a good balance between flexibility and strength. Ideal applications include automotive industry components, reusable/returnable packaging and packaging of heavyweight items.
