Partnering to Protect the Environment

Protexic Brands works closely with the Alliance of Foam Packaging Recyclers (AFPR). Established in 1991, the AFPR works to raise awareness of the advantages and environmental benefits of expanded polystyrene (EPS) packaging. The group also organizes collection efforts for post-consumer EPS, and provides information on recycling technologies and new solid waste management practices.

The AFPR represents more than 40 EPS manufacturers with over 200 collection sites in the United States and Canada. The organization also issues frequent updates and reports on International Packaging Regulations in Europe and Asia to help manufacturers meet regulatory and environmental requirements in the global marketplace. Currently 20 countries worldwide participate in the International EPS Recycling Agreement.
